Props Invented The Remix...
...Well not quite, but we are getting this blog crackin' right the fuck now. Welcome to the mind of the sometimes elusive DJ/Producer of the Aesthetics Crew. I'll be one of your tour guides along the road as we get ready to finally put this album out. It's been many years of hard work and this is going to be the year it all comes together (of course that's what Dre's been saying about "Detox" and the Colts have been saying about the Super Bowl but bear with us.)
What's on my mind today:
- The new Ghostface album:
in one word... BANANASHOLYSHITITSABOUTTIMESOMETHINGTHATFUCKINGDOPEHASCOMEAROUND
alright, so that's really alot of words disguised as one. but seriously, this is my album of the year pick (also retroactively covering the past 3 years.) hip-hop needs more albums like this... (and so do you.)
- NCAA Tournament:
The best playoff/championship in sports is in full effect right now. as much as i would love to see (f)ucla lose in the first round (sorry fellas), i can see them going far. if the beatdown they gave belmont yesterday is any indication, they'll help keep some money in my pockets throughout the tourney...
- V For Vendetta:
yes, i'm a nerd as you will come to find. comic books from the 70s and 80s and natalie portman are my steez (short hair = so right) so this is right up my alley. alan moore is a genius and this movie is supposed to stick close to the book (story and visuals) so this should be good. while he is a great writer, he is for all intensive purposes out of his skull and as a result is reportedly giving all of his money on this to david lloyd (the illustrator of the comic.) regardless, WB gets my $10.50 for this one...
That's all i got for now, but keep checking back as we'll be updating this thing more frequently with all kinds of good stuff - random links, production notes, behind the scenes of the making of the album, new music, etc. lots of good things are in store.
with that i leave you dear goodearlyadoptingaestheticsfanorreaderthatwounduphereanddoesntknowwhatthefuckisgoingon with something from the crates. enjoy!
Big Daddy Kane - Wrath of Kane (MP3)
ps. this blog is off to a nice start thanks in part to an afternoon of drinking guinesses at my company bbq today. happy st. patrick's day suckas...
